Kay and Bill Strauss
EXPLORER SPOTLIGHT
Stauss, Kay and Bill.JPG

We are excited to welcome Kay and Bill Stauss, our newest Explorers. The couple has been married 63 years, have raised two children, have 4 grandkids, 2 great grandkids and a third one on the way. They share their Texas home with 14-year-old, Dusty, a large, fluffy Rag-Doll cat.

Raised in Oklahoma, both are graduates of the University of Oklahoma. Kay considers completing her formal education (a Master’s degree and obtaining her LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) in her 50s to be one of her biggest accomplishments. She retired as a school counselor with Tulsa Public Schools 13 years ago. Bill spent most of his career as a petroleum engineer and then a mathematics instructor at Tulsa Community College. He has written a book about his dog Billybob. The book “Billy’s World” is available on Amazon.

Kay and Bill have lived in various places in the US, and raised their family for a few years in Alberta, Canada. They love to travel and learn about other cultures. They have visited Europe, Australia, New Zealand and the Scandinavian Countries. Having spent the last 10 years living in Sun City in Georgetown, Texas, next on their bucket list is moving back to Tulsa.

The couple likes to read and play Bridge, and they work out daily. Kay paint rocks (we can’t wait to hear more). She has a special chili recipe she promises to share with us during common meals. We are told red wine is the secret ingredient. Both Kay and Bill are eager to downsize. They are looking forward to moving back to Tulsa and to joining a community of like-minded people. They are also excited to experience all 4 seasons again.
