EXPLORER BENEFITS
As an Explorer you can dig in and learn about the community.

You will receive an extensive preliminary budget along with information about membership and the development process.

You will be given a copy of The Senior Cohousing Handbook by Charles Durrett and learn more about our decision making process that gives everyone a voice.

You'll have the opportunity to participate in business meetings, get to know the group, and see how we work together.

You'll be assigned a "buddy" to help you navigate the process, answer your questions and keep you connected.
At the end of your three month Explorer period, we hope you’ll join us as a full member in creating this community way of living where neighbors become friends.

Your home selection priority status which allows you to reserve your home is secured when you become a Member.

2. Become an Explorer and dig deeper
To gain a deeper understanding of Heartwood Commons and decide first-hand if this is a good fit for you, we invite you to become an Explorer.
As an Explorer, you’ll

Have the opportunity to get to know us and our project closely and start getting involved.

Attend an Orientation Meeting to learn more about the details of our development including member benefits, budget, timeline, and steps to reserve your home.

Receive a copy of The Senior Cohousing Handbook: A Community Approach to Independent Living by Charles Durrett, cofounder of cohousing in the U.S.

Join us for general and committee meetings, social gatherings, and other events.

Be paired with a “buddy” to help you navigate the process and answer your questions.

Have a lot of fun with your future neighbors.
